“Well Hello everyone, Last night my friend Kiril and I went to B bar call "Bawerry" NYC Tuesday anyway around 1am someone tapped my shoulder and goes to me "You re so cute" i turn around and guess who is he, no other then Graham Northon himself :), i was soo shocked he was standing with someone drinking and he was very Very Buzzed (little drank), so i just said "Thank U" and didn't know what to say to be honest. Then later he left with him around 2:30 am Only in NY only in NYCITY falks :)”

“Hi Pat, unfortunately I didn't see the 1999 tour as I was working abroad in Dubai at the time. I saw Blondie a couple of weeks ago in London and they were incredible, such energy! I was lucky enough to meet the band, Chris Stein quipped that I looked more like Deborah than Deborah! lol!Debbie was lovely and I've now got her champagne glass as a souvenir War Child is one of my favourites, I'd love to do it live but the rest of my band are taking some persuading! For Your Eyes Only..shame it didn't get used for the Bond theme!xx”

Did you get a chance to see Blondie on their Livid tour back in 99? Saw them in Paris and they were terrific - particularly La Harry, who was very poised and laidback about the whole thing as if thinking "I'm really too old for this but my kids seem to like it, so -" Debbie Harry is The Princess of cool as far as I'm concerned. I always say she can turn trash into glamour and glamour into trash with equal ease. What do you think of The Hunter album? There seems to be a concensus that every true Blondie afficinoado should hate that album and I love it. War Child and For Your Eyes Only are two of my favorites. Not to mention the opening number Orchid Club who always gets my mind dirty.... Oh wait, I forgot: my mind is always dirty.”

“Lisa I'm surprised you haven't seen any of their latest videos (I think 2 years old), "Forever not yours" or "Lifelines" which I think are both great videos and beautiful songs. Morten looks like he used to actually. Of course he's looks a bit older but I have to be honest and say not much. The voice is still one of the greatest male voices IMO. Still IF you haven't heard these songs I would love to make you a copy of that CD and send it to you, it is very good and as Karl wrote they have created a new A-HA sound for the new century and managed to do it perfectly.”

“Last night me & Karina, Anna, Kiril, etc went to Concert "MADONNA" it was very goood, Excellent start from Vogue, my Favorites were Vogue, Like a Prayer, Burning Up, Music, In to the Groove...She lipsing, Nobody Knows me Die another day with all those Electro ellements, she dance Unbelievable so as her dancers, she changed to 4-5 excellent constumes..start from Gold corcet to a Scotish Kilt...It was one Spectacular Concert, seats weren't THAT great but last few songs we sneaked in FEW of us, to first 3 row and watched the concert from UP up front :) it was REALY GOOD. but im sure you guys soon will see on DVD or LIVE in your Countrys :) xoxoxo”

“I just found out that A-ha played live less than 2 weeks ago on the same little festival in Denmark where I saw Kim last year. Damn I would love to see A-ha live, I think they have made some lovely songs and Morten is a great singer. But I found out too late. “well - SO GLAD 2 see this video after almost 10 years waiting - hot! I've never saw it on a German music-channel, even if we don't have much of 'em :-). This video could be more interesting, but Kim looks very hot and is in excellent shape. “You know what Phillipe, I really like the thought of ABBA being your spiritual parents. I can relate to that. My mother did listen a lot to ABBA when I was a kid and therefor so did I and still when I hear the harmonies in a song like "Our last summer" or "Chiquitita" or almost any ABBA song, I feel this peace inside. And I remember doing the same when I was a kid. It's a nice feeling bringing back nice memories. And like you suddenly this chick came and changed it all. Suddenly ABBA wasn't there anymore (well always in our hearts and our radio) and she just took over. I even have a nice review from a Danish magazine where the reviewer writes something like "if you miss the sweetness and melody of ABBA's music, then 'Close' is a good substitute"." I know not everyone will agree but I thought that it was a nice compliment to give to Miss Wilde. I mean it was ABBA he was referring to! “Remixes... they're not what they used to be you know... (Except for Marcy Marc's obviously ;-) Alisue/Alexandre, You seem quite meditative these days. I'm glad this site is allowing you to say it (almost?) all. I can relate at least to one thing: as a kid, I was a true loner myself, and I found excellent refuge/company in three things:music ABBA are my spiritual parents. Their lyrics, harmonies and voices just helped me transcend the s**t of everyday's business. Kim came later, as a bright and dynamic satellite in the wake of ABBA's Sun. Animals and I always had excellent relationships, (no need to talk I guess, and I wasn't good at that anyway), and my best bud was a german shepherd. I have his picture with me still. Third was books, and I used to read a lot of them. My best pals were "Les six compagnons" and ... they still live inside me let's say (Gosh soon I'll be hearing voices!). Then I turned 16 and things took a turn for the very worst (it still could yes, the Universe has a strange sense of humor), ... until life came back only recently, greening and flowering my slopes. I guess I'm catching up for (lost?) time) now, and I assure you: I ROCK, life rocks, music still rocks, my body and soul rock, and I sense they will for a long long time now. Hum, have I said too much? In one way, hell yeah! It's 10.30 pm and I'm waking up at 3 am. Ps: Dear Pierre: Did you receive my new avatar?”
“Let's admit it : the Jupiter remix for "Shame" sucks ! It really is, well, a shame, compared to the original mix as featured on the french compilation "Singles collection". But to my opinion, the T'Empo Club Mix is absolutely fantastic, probably Kim's best club track. I especially love the first three minutes or so, when the additional backing singer shouts "O woohowooowowow", it automatically makes me want to dance ! They should have released this mix in a shorter version, it would have been a smash. I never got the chance to listen to the 12". Does anyone have it ? Is the T'empo dub any good ? Last Saturday I danced on "Dreams are my reality..." with a 50 or so years old spanish woman who was so, but so lovely. She held me strong and told me that I m beautiful and an artist and I asked her "aherm, where s your husband? Isn t he jealous?" and we laughed like 2 teenagers doing something forbidden. She touched my heart and soul too. And now, all the younger people who were on drugs, believe me they were ugly with false smiles. As I told you, I don t judge but tend to understand. When I looked at myself in the mirror I thought "You lucky, you still can be saved, jump on your chance!"”

Before our meeting, here s a story last time I went to New York in Sept '03 Karina: Ever heard of the Carlton Arms Hotel? A mixture of '70s PoP Warhol and the current mysticism reunited in a colourfull and motley decor. After 1 clubbey night I had to find a room as the room we had booked in another hotel had become too little for me, my room mate and our guests... After crossing a few streets we arrived for case at Carlton Arms, welcomed by a rainbowish Buddah downstairs, we were given the key to room n°5C, we went upstairs to the 5th floor and fell on diams written *5C* door, I put the key inside the lock and turned it to open the door, what I saw... A room full of Madonna pictures, all brightened up by 1000 and 1 different pearls! The bathroom was dedicated to Her Madgesty s breast, sometimes sweet, sometimes agressively JPG conical. I came back to Switzerland the day after and got to know she arrived in NYC on the night I was in bed surrounded by her, 2 streets away from the Carlton Arms to promote her "English Roses" book. New York is the craziest place of the world, anything is possible and there s a place for anyone able to find his/her it, it s an inspiring jungle! Karina, promise me you ll stop me from buying everything, shopping is compulsive to me! As for the Beastie Boys, you can tell JR they re making a concert 1 week before my venue, so he will avoid them ;-) Karina, let me virtually kiss your hand before reality celebrates our meeting. I remember it was a song I couldn t listen to doing something else when I was a child, I had to lay down and closed my eyes to see all those magnificient images the song put into my brain and heart, and as I ve been lucky enough staying connected with the little Alexandre (Dgé, je ne t oublie et je t aiiiiiiiiiiiimmme, pas comme Lara ou comme une star de cinéma, mais comme un homme peut en aimer un autre. I love it very much because it s an unconscious trip into Kim Wilde s universe, full of explosions, angel voices coming down to earth and... an electriK guitar sound that is 1 of my favourite melody of the genre. I m not into electriK guitars at all but here, impossible cancelling it, every sound and melody has it s meaning on the song as it s built like a castle, brick after brick, all different but with a result of a true Babylon Tower. Sure that my unconscious intuitions skill owes a lot to "Just A Feeling". Until today I have often been thinking about something to happen with that sentence in my head *... just a feeling...* and it s sometimes amazing to realize the conclusion of those feelings. Oh my dear Wilde lovers friends, 1 thing I forgot to tell you is that I m not on drugs right now ;-) I m just letting myself go on the road that leads to the *Just A Feeling* castle and I ll soon have to lay down again to enjoy it more. Thank you for what you did into my heart Kim, I love you forever and listening to you now, alone at home, is a pure pleasure, your music sometimes smells like my favourite dessert. We all have secrets, and maybe 1 of Kim s secrets is that she always loved the song. She often acted that way in the media after a single that didn t do well, because she s proud. When she first said in interviews about the lows of her career she was already about to leave it all behind. When she still wanted to to stay in, she avoided talking about those lows. I might even start to like it after a few repeats. As jerzy pointed out, the fact that an indie rock artist would dare to pay hommage to Kim is a sign she's reached "cool" and is on her way to "icon" status. Ironic that Kim finally became "hip" in England when she stopped trying to be it. For years they dubbed her "as exotic as Coronation Street", trashed her hair, her looks, her music. So what does she do? Piles on the pounds, throw out the comb, grab a hoe and gets her fingernails dirty. Tout ce que j écris est vrai, pourquoi m auto censurer?), on aimait bien les rendre verts de rage ces profs aux balai dans le cul et notre jeu favori était d ouvrir nos pupitres et de chanter en canon (et avec la même voix, mais ouais!) le "Quoi" de Birkin, le prof, rivé sur son tableau noir se tournait d un coup pour nous choper en flag et nous, lestes comme des brebis, on était sagement accoudés sur nos tables, plume en main, prêt-à-dicter! "True to you" would have been a great choice for the first and then "Life and soul" followed by "Hold on" or "C'mon love me" in a radio edit. I think "Heaven" and "Sweet inspiration" has more catchy chorus than "Breakin away" I really think it falls from exciting to plain when it reaches the chorus and that's not really the best way to sell a record. Never saw the video (and won't until that damn DSL is fixed!) but when it was released I hated everything about that song, down to her look on the sleeve. For a while I truly thought this would be the first Kim Wilde album I wouldn't buy. Then a friend lent me his copy and I realized Breakin' Away was merely - as so often the case - a bad choice for a single and one of the weakest tracks in an otherwise brillant album. I truly think Now and Forever is the best album she did since Close. If only she had released "Hold On", "True To You", "Life and Soul" or even "C'mon Love me"... well, she probably would have been doing a tour instead of Tommy and never met Hal. So I guess it's all for the best (sigh) :-)”

There was/is something about the chorus that just doesn't suit the song I think. I actually like it much more now than back then. There is also one of the remixes on the CDM that has a much stronger vocal in the chorus, they should have used that in stead on the single I think.”

“Hey Pat La Canaille! I had to watch "Lost In Transaltion" yesterday night in my friend s bar but changed my mind to stay with my baby... Gonna watch it anyway this week and give you my review. Been watching this crapy and pollution Jean Luc From The Street TV show called "Jour après Jour" with the fabulous Frigide Barjot (and husband De Koch) as guests. The subject was "Introducing my parents into my gay life", very voyeur for a change and another drag queen overdose... And then this Jean Luc, with his "premier de classe" attitudes is 1 of the most homophobiK TV man I ever saw on French channels. Anyway there was a lesbian DJette into electro who was working hard to get into the parisian creamy scene, not bad at all the girl, just a little too agressive but anyway, agressivity allows some people to fly... She was filmed in her musical "laboratory" and all of a sudden I jumped on the sofa "Hey, she s got Kim Wilde s "Kids In AmeriKa" single!" while my boy jumped on the sofa "Hey, she s got The Streets album!", we looked at each other and had a good laugh about our large large large horizons ;-) A detail I know, but very funny!
