I did pretty much everything from 82 till 94 I had a year off to do a band with Jon from Culture Club,but did all the main tours ,recordings etc. Bad timing was the Another Step tour,but I offered to show the replacement guitarist all the stuff and he was too uptight and played most of the stuff totally wrong.I tried to be as supportive as I could be. I thought that was the worst band Kim ever had,but as I wasn't there for her I felt so bad. I really feel I let her down that year. But she was big enough to take me back.”

“JR, I was just the guitar plkayer with Kim. I had ambition to be a total pop star on my own terms. Kim was always the focal point as she was the star. I used to want to be a star also so I took the opportunity to make a band with Jon Moss when Culture Club split up. I had worked with him before as I used to be a session guitarist for 20 years,Pet Shop Boys,Frankie goes to Hollywood,Kids from Fame etc etc etc,I thought all you guys knew this. “JR, Sorry I forgot about Jon. Well he had a deal with Virgin as they(Culture Club) sold 8 times platinum sales in the US but also worldwide. So they gave us £250,000 to get a band together. We spent it on clothes all made by his designer friends,travel to NYC to record with the best guys,rehearsal and recording at the ultimate studios,we were the last band in Olympic studios where the Stones and Hendrix recorded,I tore off something that Jimi had written on the wall. I used to drink a pint with Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzie)just before he died. Jon was a spender,he would just do anything he wanted and not ask the price. Thats fine but we had a deal of buying dinner each night and when it was my turn he took us to a Japanese restaurant in W1 the most expensive area of London. The meal for four cost me hundreds of pounds,yet Jon bought us a burger the day before. He would fly Concorde,we would fly Virgin economy. He's a lovely and talented guy though,I can't think of a bad thing to say about him.”

Of course we have downloads now and so on. The record industry is shaking with fear at the moment,thats why I work in media where the opportunities are endless. I was signed as a yuoung writer by a genius of the business called Clive Calder. He founded Zomba music,Jive records and had most of the worlds biggest hits for two decades.He saw the wind of change and sold for billions a few years ago,BMG bought his stck and now Universal is buying that. If the European Monopolies Commission allow them next year. I am interested in all of this as it is my lifeblood and I have been invited to be on the board of directors at PRS the company that collects all UK royalties worth £260,000,000 per year. So the rewards for a big hit record are just as great but it has to be number one in all of the territories for the millions in royalties. I don't understand how James Blunt can crack the US or why idiots like Girls Aloud can sell in the UK. My problem is I am too close to it and can't see it as a music fan would do. “You can tell I'm bored,they're listening to bass drums and talking about the properties of different compressors,just mix my f***ing music guys. Still it gives me time to write another little memoir,for Pierre if no one else. Sopot was a nice little seaside town until you looked under the cover. The Rolls Royces and Porches were ownend by the Russian mafia who ran the area. A typical bar would have naked servers and naked mud wrestling.We were taken there and I was given a Vodka orange that must have had a quarter litre of Vodka in it,I was then aproached by the most incredibly beautiful young women who asked if I would like to have sex with them. As I was with Kim and the band I declined and I left feeling sorry for these poor lovely young women who I imagine are in slavery.”
“I remember this gig too. It was Chiogga a little Venice,we were whisked there by speedboat and like all good Italian shows there were about 100 models on stage,we don't see them in this clip. I was chatting to Bob Geldof backstage as he was ogling the models getting changed he asked me where I had bought my Morrocan hooded top,in Morocco of course. We had a fantastic night with the best food that can be eaten,my old school mate is Sir Bob's keyboard player and my best co writer is his Sax player(on tour with George Michael at the moment) Pierre,you bring me so many happy memories,I'm gratefull. “On the day we were pissed off at the price of a beer maybe 10 Euros,so we found a supermarche and got Vodka Tequila etc and drank the lot. So rehearsals for about 8 hours and we were bored so went to the workers bar deep underground. There we had lots of fun and laughs and bottles of wine,so come 11 pm we are on stage,I had to be slapped and pushed on as I was asleep. Poor Kim had just had her mineral water and done her make up like the total professional that she is and was like,are you guys ok? yes we slurred. After the show we went to the prince's party and he was being hassled all night by Claudia Schiffer,I tried to talk to her and she just blanked me. I think the crown prince was more interested in our cute bass player Pete,but that is pure speculation of course.”

“Pierre, Now my girls are asleep I can look at that photo again. It was of course during the 2nd Time era. We all got the outfits for the video but only Kim was allowed to keep hers. Ours were destined to wipe a windscreen or something. I can recognise my Johnsons boots from Kings Rd next to Malcolm McClaren and Vivien Westwoods shop.It was so cheap to shop designer chic then,as noone knew they were to be famous.I used to get Paul Smith trousers and tops from across the road made to fit for £40,I wish I had saved all this stuff,my daughter would fit it all now,tall and skinny. Back to the photo. I guess we thought we looked hard. Me on the left and Richard Blanshard on the right survived,but poor Chris and Steve fell foul of their East End gang background.”

“Rufie and I agree with Lisa--Kimmy's hair is too light, straight, and makes her look like Peggy Lee or something. I wouldn't have a problem with it in about 12 years from now, but as another fan with extremely fine hair, it's just a waste of "now time" for better lack of another term. She still looks great and can still perform quite well. Let's see her do something for just a little while to live up to the comeback hype. “About Kim's clothes, I think black colour suits her fine, it shows blond hair to advantage. I used to visit London quite often when I lived in Lille and I noticed it was a very british way to wear clothes, there were black everywhere. I liked it and since I always wear black suits. About Kim's hairdo, I think she's as pretty as she was but I agree that smooth hair make classic looked, I'd love to see her with the same hairdo and colour she's got in Gross Gerau live. I know Kim pays attention to fans advice, I remember she asked fashion advice in a fan cllub magazine, I cut clothes images in french fashion magazines of Jean-Paul Gaultier and Azzedine Alaïa, and sent to the fan club; Later, I was pleased to see her clothed by these two fashion creators. “Well, much as Kim's other recent acoustic performances, this one's excellent *stares at James* :D Kim's work here is basically flawless, and the song works very well when delivered acoustically. However, somewhere near the end things don't quite sound as things should in my oh so humble opinion, the guitar seems to try hurry Kim along, making it all sound a little stressful for a while. That's it, basically - the rest is grand!”

Personally, I think that her current hairdo is one of the most conservative and, frankly, boring she's had. Ever :( It looks quite lifeless and, as James said, I think it actually makes her look older (and/or possibly mumsier perhaps) than she actually is. “I think Kim looks very dramatic and artistic in black - infact, I'm dressed completely in black today trying to be more Kimish. Black seems to accentuate her beautiful features and nice makeup. I do agree though, it would be nice to see this hairstyle change. The shade of blonde is too ash, taking away the warmth from her face, and she always looks younger with wave in her hair. Unfortunately with these 80's megastars, they spent so much time choking on the fumes of their perming solutions that they now want to get as far away from the wave as possible.”

“Pierre,it's sure you're the one to be right about Kim and Etienne Daho, my memory is a bit confused. If you've got this tv show, you'd be an angel to let us see it. Jerzy is right, it would be the best punishment for my brother to be spanked by Alexandre as he(my brother) is very macho (he loves girls like Sabrina, you know what I mean). He had also broken my Bitter is better single (he only pretended to do it but he really did!), he drived me wild! I actually would never had thought that her come back would be that flamboyant. I spoke to the swiss EMI guy the other day, because I had asked him for an interview. I told him about my special affection for Kim and he told me it was excatly the same for him, and his first job in the music bizz was "Now & Forever" back in 95. With that "never say never" way of life, Kim has given her loyal fans a priceless gift to their patience. What s funny is to realise that the country she used to be big (France, Germany, Switzerland) are still the stronger followers more than 20 years after. Sparks... “Kim has certainly got the charisma and attitude that this song requires. However, the fact that this is a lip synch definitely affects my overall impression of the clip. I don't think it's Kim's fault in any way, though - I suspect that it's got more to do with TV channels not wanting to take any "risks", yet when dealing with someone like Kim, those risks are obviously minimal if even that. So, I suspect that to those that know the song well the lip synch isn't all that convincing - the performance itself is quite nice though, so I'll give it an 8.”

“i agree calanor, all Kim singles are import ones, but you can find the album in all french shops and thanks to the promo, it could be possible for people to find it at their supermarkets ; most of people here, as in many countries, buy things at supermarket...but without any single available, you ll have no more promotion because you couldn't find it and people will not go to germany or other to get it, all promotion stuff is based at first on a single...and more rarely on a whole album and the more you sell in an inside market, the more you get promo and with about 20.000 copies in France and about 60.000 in Europe situation is not so brilliant not for this album but for future albums...due to bad situation of record labels and the fact is only two concert dates are available...and la cigale is a rather little concert place...the more you sell the more concerts you get and biggest places too ; standard copies number (it is the minimum to see...) was at 25.000 and for now she only reach about 22.000 ; to be valuable on the french market and so get a future chance of registering a nex lp you have to sell between 50.000 and 60.000 copies and for this reason without any singles, no other copies will be edited...and so impossible, so please buy at least to reach the 25.000 . sorry calanor but it is only for french market, i don't know for other countries”

Kim was in such a happy mood it brought tears to my eyes. My problem is with the guitar and bass sounds which were shit,merd,sheise. Don't these guys know that you need a Taylor guitar with the closed sound hole to get a true deep and tonal acoustic guitar sound? My mate could equip them tomorrow. “Guys, The acoustic session for RFM Radio in Paris has just ended. I second Calanor in the fact that Kim has a more powerful voice than ever. Trust me, I'm nothing but under influence; I've seen quite a lot of gigs in the last 25 years and it takes much to impress me, but Kim managed to make it. This time, it was a minimalist set (Perry on guitar/ Kim on vocals) and a very intimate audience. Songs played were: Baby Obey Me, Together We Belong, You Came, Perfect Girl (twice thanks to a technical issue), Cambodia (amazing!) and an extra one : Kids in America. Between the tracks, Kim was interviewed, and all in all, it lasted something like an hour and a half, with the autographs session etc etc.. We'll get both a radio and a TV programmes from this recording on French media. And while I'm writing this, Kim is recording two additional shows. See you later folks!”

“Well, this one is a bit tricky to rate for me. Even though I don't think this performance is flawless, I certainly like it a lot. "Problem" is that I heard/saw a basically flawless acoustic delivery of "Perfect Girl" the night before and that obviously affects my opinion about the Nyhetsmorgon performance (same goes for "You Came" during the same occasion, really). While the Rix FM performance was an easy 10, I'll give this one a (strong) 8. :o”

“Yeh, I would go along with Cal and other posters to say that Cambodia is a great timeless track. I think Rick's intro riff,the sheer atmosphere and a great lyric from Marty make it special ,and Kim's delivery in her more cold vocal style at that time summed up a story of love and loss,classic Shakespeare really. Also the backwards guitar solo finishes it off like a dream which is also suggested throughout the track. All the sounds were so evocative of the era ,sublime majesty. Happy B'day Cambodia. ”

“Ahhh Paris - I remember the Le Rouges bus tour so well. I jumped off of the bus frantically searching for a loo after drinking too much Vitel, and walked into the most GORGEOUS hotel. It was on a famous round-a-bout with this gift from Egypt in the middle of it. The toilets were all gold, and there was a man in a black suit playing the harp outside.
