I think it's illegal to put the song on a webside ...correct me if I'm wrong, Pierre. It might cause trouble regarding copyright protection.

JR: I'm in love with Kim's voice and music since the very beginning. I started collecting her records, press clippings, etc. in 1981 after the release of Kids in America. My very first concert was on December 5th in 1983 @ Offenbach, Stadthalle. This is where I met her for the very first time after the show in a tiny little room. She signed some stuff for a handful of fans. I was petrified. Couldn't believe that this woman really excists ;-) Strange but true. I was a kid at that time and only knew her from TV shows & mags. Sat morning had a little shop in the department store, did heaps, spent nothing, lovely :) Tried on some Coco Chanel, some Estee Lauder Iris Passion eye shadow, and then sampled all these FREE valentine's day chocolates from all around the world. Went to Christian Dior and finshed off my makeover for FREE (*-_-*) Also, tried some FREE wine, then topped up my lipstick at Lancome.
I do own makeup, but it was there to try on, so.......

Went home and got ready. (James, to answer your question, I wore my black Italian just below the knee high boots, darks blue denium skirt, (not too long, not too short), black
cat woman inner top, and for an outer, this kind of coral colour V neck pull over, which reveals the inner black underneath. Get the look?)

Started out with dinner with the girls at the Turkish restaurant, then it was time to hit the club.

When we arrived, this really annoying guy kept requesting his fav Rod Stewart hits, and dancing by himself to Hot Legs (Very tragic sight -Boy George was absolutely right when he said there was bad bad 80's music, and good 80's music!!)

Four cocktails later, while listening to Do Ya Think I'm Sexy, I decided to confront the DJ about what I'd like to hear on my night out on the town :0

Said: Kimu Wirudo no Chekado rabu onegaishimasu - and he, being an expert on 80's music, had no idea, can you believe that? Then said: Kidsu Inamerika shitemasuka, and he said Hai Hai (yes yes), then I said; look for Kim Wilde and you'll find it.

He put it on, we ran onto the dance floor, and all of a sudden, these other people got up and started dancing. These British guys, who were glued to the soccer all night, stopped watching and checked us out. DJ, then turned on the disco ball and the older British guy (one of the soccer fanatics) screamed out "hey this was Marty Wilde's HOT daughter", and then he ran out onto the dance floor and started doing the twist (so cute)

Sunday, had brunch with a couple and their nine year old daughter, who just can't wait to turn ten one day. She has just discovered the concept of "gay man" - so funny but another long rambling on story!

Anyway, I just want to take some time to tell you all that this experience through Pierre s geniune idea is like the most beautiful diamond in the world, and believe me I know diamonds as they re my best friends ;-) Sometimes in our real lives, we have to learn to be patient and that life is not only about listening to Kim Wilde... And I think that 1 key to happiness is our ability to feel our evolution, isn t it? Feeling you ve improved since the last 3, 30 or 300 years is a great pleasure. And among us all making the KWTV history, continuing that Wilde mission of love, there s a huge evolution. We all change. You change, sometimes closer to Kim, sometimes far from her, that s life! Isn t it pretty thinking about the supernatural strenght of our little Kommunity? Do you think it happens for a lot of artists? Do you know the value of what you ve done to us all Pierre? No, Kim did not make a commercial for Toblerone, she answered a "LOVE/HATE" interview for Smash Hits in '87 were she explained how much she hated... paying her bills, her "Teases&Dares" outfit and... Toblerone (because she loves it so much and when she starts she can t stop and when she doesn t stop, just like any other human being she gets more, ahermmm, generous and when she becomes glamourous then the english press and some nasty fans accuse her of being fat...) That s why she loves to hate and hates to love Toblerone. Ah James, life s not simple, is it?”

“Lisa,
I should ask my dad about Toblerone, maybe he s still got a copy of it. What I can tell you is that we were walking in a wood, not quite a holly wood, but a swiss wood. The scene was about a dad and his son in the nature, you know, it was the mid '70s and it was quite avant guardist, "a dad and his son", very en vogue in the current marketed images projected on our TV screens, isn t it? Anyway, we were walking in a wood and I asked my dad "Daddy, don t you have a Toblerone?" and my dad smiled back at me "Oh yes, I have a Toblerone!" So we sat together, he took off his back bag and we enjoyed a Toblerone together... Cute, isn t it?
The guy from the casting noticed me and my dad on the street and asked my father for the advert because he thought I looked like an angel with my blonde hair. My dad (a hippie) refused in the first place and soon changed his mind for the money... See baby, more than Love, money makes the world go round :-(

And I also started a brandnew style for myself, based on Gainsbourg s "savoir faire" with love blondes and brunettes. I love his sixties haircut style from the "Bonnie & Clyde" period, you know, like a gangster... So I currently love watching girls watching for my shapes! And, what else? Ah, get ready for a "Dallas" revival. A movie based on the movie is planned for 2007, I can feel Sue Ellen Ewing coming inside of me, for more... So, it s all about a Sue Ellen Gainsbourg style. “Okay, I write reviews under a different name for Amazon.com US(I have done several Kim Wilde reviews, and you can all contact me under my public e-mail at Tayasreviews82@yahoo.com), but the reviewers hang together and start threads that end up being a lot of fun. Let's see how this works (crosses fingers for the best...): If Kim Wilde would do another cover tune, what would you like to see her do a new rendition of? I choose this among my top three:
1. Peggy Lee's "Hey Big Spender" with "Love Blonde" in an acoustic jazz take, because I think we need somebody this lucrative to do a song in that manner, and Kim has the chops.
2. A stunning remake of Kylie's "Love Boat," because that's a song I don't think got the justice it deserved the first time around.
3. I've heard Kim loves Justin Hayward somewhere, and I just plain lust him. Schoolgirl wants them to do a duet on a great song like "Gemini Dream," which "Chaos at the Airport" sounds very much like, or something like the beautiful "Driftwood."
This could be fun, and I'd like to know if there's any thruth to that JH rumor anyway! ”

“Oh This is my all time favorite Kim's performance, oh the 80's = era of big hair, a lot of make up, flashy outfiths, big earings...thats how Sandra, Madonna, Sabrina , Fox and all look alike, but when i saw Kim in very simple yet very sexy black tight dress amd heels, with messy hair i said "ohh this one stood out and very different" this is the perf of "You Keep M H O" that they were showing in Armenia and around Russia ( every kid in highschool next day were talking about Kim) wow who was that? then we found out it is Kim Wilde-it was soo popular that they were requesting this clip-every week for next 2 years. I love the way she moves the energy all package is a 10. and yes cameraman did a great job too. ”

I must admit that the lyrics to this song are very sensual! I guess in the time of Salome the thoughts were more noble than nowadays. I'm still becoming from an Egyptian adventure which turned into a big disaster to say the least. I guess I should have taken Kim's advice 'Never trust a stranger'(but then love is blind isn't it?) ”

"She was so full of her life...now noone can tell." The song is always so eery, especially since it's understandable why you would tell an inquistive child to run along and play. Who wants to burst that bubble?

“Steve, I couldn't agree with you more. Even if Ricky's singles in the 70's were slightly dodgy, they still contain the best arrangements, which I'm sure Marty was also responsible for then. The lyrics on Kim's early albums are highly imaginative and I'm still working out what some of them must mean. I'm always surprised how the English have underrated the Wilde's, considering they have shaped both the early rock'n'roll world as well as the 1980's. As far as I know, Kim is still the best selling solo female singer in the UK's chart history. So why not be more proud of her - then and now?

Cool remix,
I had forgotten this track, but we played it live a few times.
The lyrics are by Marty Kim's dad and he is such an interesting man he would take his lyric ideas from the bible, the pub,the news anything would set him off on a train of thought for a song.
He coined most of the early tracks identities,Kids in America,Water on Glass,View from a Bridge,Cambodia,etc.,etc.,
I actually think he is one of the most underrated, pop lyricists of the recent age.

My persona s "abandon" level is very high and like in everything, I feel things very deeply. I can be so happy I want to kiss everybody on the streets, making people laugh is 1 of my eldest and greatest pleasures. I love seeing someone happy, knowing it s because of me. As a consequence, I ask a lot of attention and can feel totally misunderstood when the focus is not necesseraly on me. But I work hard on me and I ve changed a lot, thanx of my KWTV therapy too! I try to be less emotional when it s not necessary to be, because I can become suffocating for the people I love. This abandon feels like a cold in my heart and this feeling I ve known since I was a child. And also, since I was a child, I knew my life would never be linear, but colourful and full of tears of joy and sadness. That s me, I m full of liquids ;-)
That winter, that silence that sounds like coton, even if it makes you feel melancholiK, it also feels like home. Mylène Farmer s universe is based on that controversal and paradoxal feeling of feeling good and comfortable in the sadness. Some weird and masochistiK feeling girls and gays are usually used to.
