I don't want to say that Kim on EMI was bad - she was great but i still like the MCA stuff better - some stuff of her EMI catalogue sounds so dated and i think it is overplayed a bit - everywhere i got it's always "..Were the Kids in america.." on the radio and never "..because you came you changed..." i love her MCA albums better”

“Ok when i got CLOSE Video collection, i was so unimpressed with this Video...I realy like the celebration of CLOSE success they put some cuts from her other videos, and pressclips, but Whats with the make up and borring dress (she looked soo white) and hair was too big. I thought after Never Trust a stranger this last video from LP was very weak...1/10--6

But I also love her pop carrier ; Say You Really Want me (which has a very nice video) until the most recent ones. I must say I simply adore her most recent ones (Loved, Born to be wild, All About me, AAA) and I imagine that, with a proper promotion, they could have been international hits ... see ? :-) But it's because we were there to follow these early years ... hmmmmm”

I always liked her Say U realy love me, You Came, For Letter word, Who do you think U re, Heaven (mix), Loved.. etc ... i know VJ in NYC he loves her MCA records too, but most people here and forum even love Kim's EMI years.. Oh well.”

“Signed sealed delivered gives the opportunity to hear Kim perform in another genre, which is cool when you want to be a well-rounded artist, and `prove` you can sing other people`s music. But I am very stubborn, and stick to my favourite era of Kim`s work: Select, and most of Catch as Catch Can. Lisa, singing Olivia`s songs is great, someday we should duet on `Summer Nights` or `Suddenly`. But you`d have to come to London for that :-)) Sent you the pics you requested, did you receive `em? How`s the hangover now?”

“Pierre, do you happen to have
taped footage of Kim on
an Australian show called "Hey Hey It's Saturday"? I can only vaguely remember parts of it, but it was quite hilarious! Kim is talking about her new Greatest Hits Album, and this
little annoying puppet keeps popping up, not to ask her questions, but to stare at something private. Kim
looses it and starts punching
it (none of it was staged at
all, Kim really gets annoyed)
On another part of the show,
Kim helps judge a local talent show. All of the contestants really suck, and
some of the other judges are
giving really low scores, but
Kim was really gracious and
gave everyone a high score.
Very Sweet. Kind of felt sorry for her, cause every time they went to a commerical break, there was a frozen close up shot of Kim's cleavage (I think they
were trying to push Kim to the limit - kind of an Australian humour thing there) LOL The audience loved
her.

Im sure Kim's Rockchick will be PURE POP :) ok POP-rock...after all thats what Kim is all about POP ICON in her own rights.”

“Hello in WTVLand! Listening to 'I've got so much love' live, I do confirm that rock is the style that best suits our Kim. Why be the Beyonce or the Kylie of the day when you can be the best rock'n roll chick of the genre? 'Stay Awhile' remains the exception to the rule, in my opinion, being a gorgeous and mystical call to the Man in the Stars that it is. But then, I'm thinking, 'who is doing rock'n roll today, and is being successful at it?' The days of Joan Jett and Pat Benatar are gone, which I deplore, and it seems there can be two pop genres that get played on Mtv and on the airwaves: electropop and R&B. Would Kim take a chance and 'come back to her roots', to find herself shunned by the deciders on the big channels and stations because she wouldn't fit the mould!? When I first heard it here two months ago, I thought that 'Born to be wilde' was a nice compromise because the song undeniably possesses a rock soul, with a more modern beat and feeling. Why didn't it perform better? Is Kim definitely labeled 'eighties material', and won't be given a chance of a strong comeback? It's going to take a smart producer, who will know where Kim's voice and intelligence belong, and a temporary feeling to the songs, although they will have a rock edge to them, for Kim to be heard again. Oh, and I also love seeing Kim smile and laugh, the beautiful and radiant sun she is know in her personal and family life, but I must also say that I was really fond of her famous pout in her early years... Last thing, somewhat unrelated: I welcomed french (rock?) singer Renaud in the Lounge today. Cheers to all, Big Hugs to Pierre and Lisa today!”

“I love this song, and the performance is great, it makes me remember when Kim came to Argentina in 1994 and performed this one on a tv show, I´m not 100% sure, but I think her hair was like in this performance and I think she was wearing similar clothes to the ones she wore when she performed the song in Greece (ciao ciao or something like that, am I right?)

Would love to hear it LIVE – why not in 2004 gigs to come? ;o)

Oh, and I have to admit I am a bit surprised by the work the French operators have done with this footage… I mean, usually all TV operators aim to kind of put the cameras on Kim’s nose (we all know her face is so gorgeous)!! Those guys on the contrary – they tried to make her look million miles away… It reminds me a bit of my husband’s camerawork at Tivoli last year, LOL ;o)))

I've said it again and again, this is my favourite track, I love it recorded in studio, remixed by Marcy Marc, and (half)live here at Peter's Pop show. Hearing it, i'm thinking that things weren't all that terrible in the eighties. Didn't like the nineties much either, but I think the 'Noughties' ;-)) suit me better. I was thinking about something, which is scary to begin with: Is there any way we could organize a Kim Wilde day, either in Paris or London (or anywhere that's central in Europe, if there is such a thing?) where we could meet, dance, and exchange ideas and memories about what we like regarding Kim's music and voice? I know it sounds a bit heavy to organize, but we could do it at a small scale to begin with, at someone's place for example, or at a pocket-size discotheque a saturday afternoon. Does it sound crazy? Would anyone be interested? Rate this idea on a one to ten ;-) Then the big question is inevitably: who would do it? Could we share the organization of the event? OK, i'll just stop rambling, but it's been on my mind for a week or so...”

Still, this song is nice, but maybe too similar to "Cambodia". The B side, "Just another guy" is much more exciting. ”

Instead of soo many interviews and trying to convince people How Detoxes can help you... "1 Photo they speak Louder then 10000 words" LOL thats my point. She saw her lover with another woman ("making her in the soft sheets in between"). THIS, despair and temptation to suicide from this bridge ... "View from a bridge, can't take anymore" ... and action : "then a voice said jump and I just let go" and all the rest is about when you turn into a ghost ... because she eventually fell from the bridge and when she sees herslef, she sees her dead body, but she hasn't realised yet.

For all people out there who looove French accents like I do, I urge you to see the movie Jonny English. The French evil character in the film has a very hot French accent. Stupid slap stick comedy, yet entertaining.

the alien abduction marking on Kim's cheek, which nobody had ever seen before!!

“Hey y'all, I believe there has been much questionning what 'Child Come Away' was about, and maybe the 'beauty' of it resides in the haze of mystery... But I have a few hints. Watching the video, it reminded me very strongly of a poem by W.B. Yeats, called "Stolen Child". The theme is of course, child abduction, but of a particular type. The chorus is "COME AWAY OH HUMAN CHILD, To the waters and the wild, With a faerie hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping, Than you can understand". Kim's video reveals more of UFO/alien type of abduction, from the reaction of the town people on the beach at the end of the short film. In both cases, the kidnapping is done by non-human creatures, which says some about the fantasy/light psychedelic period of 'Catch as Catch Can'. 'Stay Awhile' (Child among the stars), and 'Dream Sequence' are also quite driven toward the world of Fantasy/Imagination. Come Away Oh Human Child is, in that respect, very close in theme and words to 'Child Come Away'. The poem was put to music by enchantress Loreena McKennitt, on her Elemental album. Anyone interested in Celtic music should listen to her at least once ... and then get hooked on by her siren-like voice. Back to Kim, I think she looks more beautiful and radiant than ever in the video, with her Wilde Hair/Mane and her famous pout. Special Hello to Pierre, JR and Lisa, it's good to read from you again. By the way, I work in a VIP lounge in London, where the select ;-) stay away from the crowd before finally departing to continental destinations. to play the part of the abducted child, rather than using a child actor and having Kimmy sing in the background.”

“I think it is very fabulous that Marc has actually remixed Never Trust a Stranger. With his magic touch and this very great song, I'm almost certain it can't go wrong. I'm trusting he kept the 'rocky' edge to the song, and didn't turn it into a spineless dance remix. Talking about rock-oriented numbers, I believe he could do a great job on 'Ego' from Select, and possibly 'Words fell down', but I believe there was already a creative 'male' version of this song done in 2003 :-)) Pierre, I do remember sending you the pics of Lord of the Rings now, I just came a bit late to approve of your posting of the pics on WTV. Classic goldfish memory, my neurones are actually freezing in winter. Different subject: I have to wake-up in an hour (2.30 in the morning!) to go to work, don't like the thought of that. Are there any insomniacs here to do my shift? ;-)”

Its an unbelivable great diet, Kim Wilde takes you to very majical 10 day jurney...Very intelligent and cool comments from Michael Van, and Kim is taking bats with candles very relaxing + eats healthy... may i just tell you this DVD has nothing to do with BBC show...and who knew that Kim is so flexibale she does great yoga too. GO for it”

“A Million Miles away from the Detox program ;-)) the remix version of Chequered Love is very energizing, gives a very decent facelift to this classic song (Kept the Wilde Touch!), and gives me a nice boost in the middle of winter. Thank you Marcy Marc, Thank you Pierre as usual (Sorry I didn't send the pics of me with the crew of Lord of the Rings cause I was on holiday and had no access to the Internet. Seems a tad bit late now, doesn't it?) Anyway, Chequered Love is very much what I like about Kim, total rock chick at the time (tomboy, she said?), I liked 'Born to Be Wild' because it renewed with the style of her beginnings, I felt.

Ok, I'm rambling on, a bit trite and late but genuine 'Happy New Year'! to you all. PEACE.”

“40/10, did I ever tell you how much I simply LURRRRRVE her voice, even when she talks ?! That's why i got hooked up with english, when I finally managed hearing her voice (not covered by some french pseudo-translator). She's got the sweetest accent ever, and the sweetest voice. But you know, I've seen her on TV in 1988-1989 in England and she already had that enormous sense of humour ... She's obviously enjoying her time at this BBC Radio show and, for me, ... it's like some Pessac-Léognan with Sunday rostbeef ... (pure pleasure, NDLR).
However, don't you find it funny she considers she was a tomboy at her early career years ??? Sorry to say, Kim, but to me also, and I'm a girl, you've always looked like a sexy gal ! (don't mention the kitten ;-) Even at 21, with Kids in America and Chequered Love ... Okay, maybe at 12 :-)”
