JR,I believe you that you did have great fun all together.I missed so many Kim gigs because of stupid reasons:because I was a teenager and had no money;because my mother didn't want to drive I and my sister to the gig at only 20 kilometers from our home and that she said it' was too far(the day after the gig,i heard some pupils talking about the gig and you can imagine how much it gave me the creeps and was more disappointed than I was already;because all the tickets were sold already for La Cigale in 2004,etc...I still feel frustration about all that.But well,I'm really glad I could see Kim gig in 1986 in Lille and in Paris last year.I must look at the half-filled bottle,not at the half-empty bottle!”

On Star Test, her energy gets calmer and calmer until by the time she says, "and gentle" in her list of personality traits, I feel totally free from stress. On "Turn It On", she is as bouyant as a calm sea, and in the line about 'lying on a pillow' from "Dream Sequence" I feel safe and secure and I can sleep while her voice soothes me. “Oh well, what can I say, James? Kim has her very own way of thinking about style and fashion. IMO she has a lotta style...but of course (like all of us) has her good and bad days. I am glad she did not wear the pink think again. The pink outfit was lovely, nice and just perfect for the beach filming in Mallorca for "Baby Obey me"...but doesn't look very rock 'n roll to me when it comes to indoor live gigs. And she wore it far too often in the past weeks ;-) But hey, each to their own. She just loves it. At the end of the day she has to feel compfy and happy. I very much loved her outfit for "Art on Ice". Black jeans, black boots and this hot little leather jacket. That looked fantastic on her. And the shirt that my friend Julia designed for her...the one with the bare shoulder. She wore it in Berlin (PG Tour 1). ”

“So Dave,it's true that New Year good resolutions are made to be not kept!?(you said that yours was to quit cigarettes).I'll always fight against cigarettes because I spent many hours in hopital corridors seeing persons suffering from cancer and lost so many close persons because of that so please try to think about it..I give you an advice:each time you think you need a cigarette,then give a kiss to your wife(it's better for health and for your moral!)and if she's not there,then take a chewing-gum without sugar. “Lisa, hahaha...no, please don't hate me ;-) I actually never had problems with me weight to be completely honest. I eat chocolate, ice cream, fries, pasta...but not every day and not huge portions. I do eat a lot of salad, fruits and vegatables but I don't do meat and fat dishes. So pizza is only once in a while. I hate fastfood in general...useless calories!!! I don't like the taste! I am more into fresh stuff and herbs. A few months ago I started running which makes me feel really good. I was never much of a "sporty spice girl". But running gives me a good energy kick...and it burns a lotta fat and calories. So that allows more pizza ....haha... I quit smoking 3 years ago. So I put on some extra kilos which I still can't get rid off. But it's alright. Now you know my "secret" ...which is not really one. I eat healthy but also "forbidden" stuff, too! I find people on diets very annoying. Most of them are really moody and complain about being hungry and stuff. That gets me on my nerves sometimes. IMO it's not WHAT you eat...it is just a question of the AMOUNT you eat in combination with some sports. But of course there's different people with different body types and different genes. So I don't want to generalize things!!! ”

“Lisa, the problem of concentration of some people is solved I think by use of captions, subheadings, and the ability to delve anywhere in the book as well as reading it from cover to cover. The chapter titles, I have in mind enable this. Mostly, it will read like a story, or novel, but factual, not fiction of course. Nothing like a Maths textbook. But a life for people to identify with. It cannot be like Italian Vogue really because Kim is not a cover girl in the model sense. And she turned down a Playboy offer, and she doesn't like how much models tend to reveal much to the delight of her father, so the book has to show why Kim turned her back on glamour, and do Gardening instead, so though there will be glamour shots, it would be wrong to treat this like a fashion book. Kim is interested in transcending fashion, and hopefully my writing aspires to her as close as I can capture her.”

“Good pictures James! I must say how surprised I was by your praise, Steve. Thanks, and it's a lot to live up to if you think I do, but I try and hope to create depth in my words. There's a concern of mine I must address, and it concerns lyric interpretation where some of it must remain open and still a mystery, something that Cal appreciated which I agree with. In my earlier post here, I mentioned about keeping the mystery, and so my concern is I hope some fans won't be disappointed that there shouldn't be a total revelation from Marty, Kim etc as that will destroy their Artist distance. To illustrate, Kim on Star Test spent 30 seconds going all round the houses explaining what "Love In The Natural Way" was about without actually telling us anything. Some might say that it was her nerves, but compare with other songs where she says that you really should go out and buy the record. Also as lyricist for Karl's Band, The Si d es, I would not reveal all myself either. It is better to write lyrics that do not force 1 view on the listener as most Boy Band type material does. There will be new insights on the songs, I'm sure, but they won't and shouldn't reveal all. I hope people here can be happy with that.”

You know Mike is a bit of a lyrical genius himself,I had one chat and found his musical knowledge also quite all encompassing. That is, one that hasn't been mentioned already - I do agree with Caro that a short analysis of each song, it's story and such, would be nice. However, when it comes to some artists the lyrics are open for some interpretation, and I think that this applies to Kim, making things a tad bit more difficult. Also, Caro brings up something else - more spontaneous shots of Kim. As for Select though, I honestly am not sure that it was that abnormal at the time to release two or three singles per album. At least they had the sense, back then, to release most singles *before* the album release. I never got this whole thing about releasing singles after the album's out - aren't singles supposed to promote an album (especially in the digital age, when anyone can download the full album months before those single releases..)?”

“Fantastically brilliantly alive performance of a sparkling song from the 1st of her 5-star album run from the '80s. Always great to hear this song in a variety of ways, but is she copmensating or NEVER doing my faves from Select. And what the hell is an album FULL of singls like Select only got 2 singles listed? Could you imagine Madonna bitch or Tranny Annie Lennox puttng up with that crap? Why the hell is Kim so damn compliant in her record companies's mission out to screw her over from the start? Why why why is Kim so negative about her stuff? What is Kim's vocal range? - never read it anywhere. What do we know about her support of David Bowie? Next to nothing. Her years at school and college? Not much.
