My brother in law works for the Ariane rocket so they live in Kourou that is located nearby the sea,we just have to cross the street to be on the beach.It's really beautiful,very unknown of tourists so there is noboby except locals,families working for the rocket,gendarmes(army policemen),legionaries. I like the melting of races(Chinese,amerindians,Backs,Whites,..)who live in a quite good harmony there. So it's sea,coconut trees,mango trees,etc.The jungle is not very far by car but it's quite dangerous to go there alone because you can do bad meetings,there are alien Brazilians who destroy all that beautiful amazonian forest(they put mercury in water,destroy trees,and amerindian population dies of that)to illegally get gold and would not hesitate to kill you,army try to chase them but it's too huge.My sister and her family went there several times and slept one night,but their friend had and slept with only one eye with a gun in his hand. We went to the market this morning,there you find all spicies,it smells so well,and I couldn't resist to buy coco punch so tonight it's aperitif.My brother in law does it on his own and asked him to do some for me,he made a coconut of their garden fall down and will do punch for the weekend as we'll go and spend the week end with their boat on isles beside the cost,very near;there are 3 isles included one called Devil's isle where prisoners came from France not a so long time ago and never went back to France.There's a famous film with Dustin Hoffman called Papillon(butterfly)that talks about it.”

“I can't sleep because of the jet lag(only 5am here,it's 10am in France),only my sister's cat who walks on the computer and ask for caresses and tells me her life. “Mike, about your neighbour. I moved to Southampton recently and got a nice detached house,with big garden,drive etc,I could never afford that in London. So I feel all middle class and respectable and invite the neighbours for drinks etc. The ones opposite me will not,speak,or look at me. I don't know why.I guess its cause they think I don't work ,and shouldn't have the best house in the street. We walk around the house naked in the mornings and don't have the blinds closed,assuming that nobody would be wierd enough to watch us. One day I was driving locally and a police car pulled me over.They arrested me as I had been reported to crimestoppers,a hotline for the police usually for drugs or violence. I was taken to a cell,fingerprinted,dna taken,photo etc.Not told why I was held,just serious allegations raised by a concerned neighbour. I was totally livid,and at first was going to bang on every door in the street and demand to know who said this stuff. I am fairly sure its the people across the street,but then I thought,why give them the satisfaction of me being upset.Hey I get arrested every day,so what? No charges were made as I am one of lifes good guys,I support the police as they are the front line for people who can' look after themselves and the police were very apologetic and even had a beer with me when they dropped me home. Some people are just wierd,they should drink/eat/have sex more ,anything,to give a focus to the petty mundane lives they lead.”

“Thanks Steve and good advice. I have been frustrated of late. I don't talk about private life online normally, but I will this time as there is a cautionary tale to be learnt here. My neighbour showed an interest in my writing and noted that I liked Kim Wilde's music, but later he became very awkward saying stuff like 'you shouldn't be following Kim. Admire a woman with brains.' And I said that she is intelligent, and used the Chelsea win to prove my point. I realised the kind of snobbery I would get if I used any Pop Music examples. So beware of someone's apparent interest in your work or Kim. They might use it against you later. Try to discover how genuine early on. She is however a sublime pop singer,nothing wrong with that ,be proud,but don't be loud,the timbre is just not there in that pretty throat for rock. “I totally agree with Psychopath. I LOVE Kim. She is the best female singer eva, certainly the best 2 come out of 80s & beyond. Which is why it makes me soooo mad that I NEVER hear her on the radio!! Oh, unless u count when she DJs on certain stations, which I don't cos that's NOT wot I mean! When she was on the station formerly known as Virgin Radio she had 2 stick 2 the same stale playlist that's used week after week. Only difference being that she put on the (edited) version of You Came. Whoopdeedoo! You Came is such an obvious one of her songs. Its always the 1st song, You Keep Me Hangin' On or - v. occasionally - Chequered Love. It says it all when You Came is considered such a rarity I actually raise my eyebrows in shock the few times I hear it on the radio! I shouldn't b surprised cos its 1 that should b on all the time anyway, just like KIA & YKMHO! & the ONLY reason You Came got on was cos Kim put it on herself - amazingly Hadley decided he mite keep it up a bit after she was gone. But tell me, would he hav played it 2 begin with had she NOT put it on herself?! When Magic was Melody, a station that would only concentrate on slushy ballads & the occasional masterpiece like One of Us by ABBA, Kim's Stay Awhile, Four Letter Word & This I Swear were PERFECT 4 that wretched, sickly station. They would've FINALLY had some classy, beautiful & poignant songs on! Never heard any of them once! Then Melody changed 2 Magic & tried 2 dive in 2 a mre "mainstream" feel (*Yawn*). Therefore, EVERYTHING by Kim would b suitable!! Not. A. Single. Song. Ohhhh but plenty of the Slag (madonna) & Lennox etc etc. So, how the hell am I supposed 2 try 2 stay sane when I hear my favourite female artist is DJing on the station - again! - & I just KNOW straight away that not ONE of her own songs is gonna b represented there! I make a point of not even "Tuning In Tuning On" 2 hear her lovely, chirpy voice saying "Hello everyone, hope ur having a lovely evening!" out of LOYALTY & RESPECT 4 her as an artist & her status in & contribution 2 music over the last 27 yrs on & off. Then I SEE the playlist & my righteous disgust is confirmed! Its a thought that makes me retch: Our Goddess of Pop/Rock playing a Slag song - & not just 1! Wot a nasty "surprise"! It makes me beyond furious! & I cannot believe that any other Kim fan would b OK with that! Yes, I know how these God-awful stations are "run"(in2 the ground!), but that's no excuse! How can they expect her 2 host their crap station & not even THINK 2 put some of her songs on the list?! Its totally disrespectful & demeaning 2 her! I'd take gr8 offense if it were me. If they had got ANY OTHER female "singer" on 2 host, their rubbish would b dotted all over the place. It wouldn't even b in question! So, as a 210% loyal & devoted Kim fan who has all her albums, nearly all her B-sides, unalbumed singles, tapes of her music videos (luv the way THEY'RE "available" on DVD by the way!! *Grrrrrr*:( ), seen her live, impatiently & excitedly waiting 4 her new album, I really do take issue with the fact this amazing, talented lady does not get the kudos she deserves - & she never did! - which is only 2 obviously outlined by her blatant & regretful absence frm radio every single day. @ the end of the day, she deserves so much mre - & the so-called "music" fatcats & all other associates don't deserve her @ all & never did! After all, she's a talented, ORIGINAL singer/song-writer - not some lowlife TRAMP!!”

Nick Ross seems bloody out of his depth here, with no idea how to talk to a beautiful rock queen 50 yrs his junior. Still, Kim, we ALL have to endure things we don't like for art and 'The Second Time' was a cool video, much better than the sily safe ones that followed. Unlike them, 'The Second Time' was the only release to have a video almost as adult, challenging and dynamic as the song was. Just cos slag Madonna couldn't do it with her crap-old story. “I recieved my book of "My first garden" by Kim a few days ago and read a large part so I recommend to anyone,it's a great little encyclopaedia with a lot of photos of plants(a few of Kim including one very nice with her pink t-shirt among flowers).This book is good for everyone even if you only have a little garden or only a window box or a balcony.There are a lot of Kim tips and gardening becomes very easy.I'm not a debutant but did a lot of mistakes so it will help me very much. And if you haven't a garden,just read it for the pleasure to learn somethings new about nature and about Kim. I already bought "Gardening with children" last year and we did great stuffs with my daughters for Christmas.Those days we're searching plants to dry in the nature to realise something else from that book.So good fun with children.
