I came from a quite poor background but no one would steal from you even the little we had. If I could see who it was I would take back my things and ask them why they needed them more than me. Money,I can understand,but ID,Passports,Driving Licenses have no value,they were cancelled immediately,and the new digital systems mean they can't use them. Ah well,it was still a great holiday. I was away for Marty's final concert at The London Palladium,I would have liked to have seen that,and of course Kim did a few songs. Did any of our people see it? I doubt it but would love to hear. “I don't know if yuo knew but I was one of the producers of Girls on Film. if you look at he film and you see the still cameras and the Nikon having film put in it and the Hasselblad camera that's me.. The lifeguard is my cousin's husband.I found the 2 girls and the boy at the end of the foilm with the hose washing the girls downis Luc Roeg son of Nic Roeg the film director Luc is now a very succesful film producer...Whe i tried tio get girls to apear in the film all the agents thought it was aporno film so said no after it became famous everybody said to me why didn't you ask me to be in the film or the agents then said oh our girls would have done it...crazy business but the film worked...”

“Hi folks yes its's me again haven't fallen off the map just been rather crazy finishing of the documentary on the new Highlander movie and a documentary I've made about an english 14 year old child prodigy composer who is the youngest pupil since Shostakovitch and Prokoviev to attend the St Petersburg Conservatory..also working on the music for the Rugby World Cup and hoping to get my friend Louis Bertignac involved. I ahve updated my stills for a little trailer that you cab see on You Tube if anybody is interested click here I have really been enjoying playing and recording again and I'll let you hear some tracks when we are more down the line. I may be directing a movie in July fingers crossed it's a supernatural thriller called Soothsyaer in the same atmosphere as the film The Others it's been on and off but looks like it may happen as they have raised the finance. The produecer is the same guy that made Backbeat, Dance With a Stranger and The Crying Game, The Krays.... Saw Steve's band the other month and they are excellent and great to see him. We all must be overdue for a reunion...best to allx ”

“Filipe, yes I remewmber that tv presenter,some of those guys have egos bigger than the stars they introduce,Kim likes French men but not ones like that. We used to joke with some of the record company people and they had no sense of humour,they would drive like lunatics 200 k on a busy periphique and get really upset if you said slow down.If you made a joke about their hair or clothjes they would go crazy,so of course we did it more. One of the nicest guys I met was Sacha Distel,he was a great guy,we talked about jazz guitar,Julien Clerc and Laurent Voulzy are good guys too,maybe its because they would take us out and pay the bills,nothing a musician likes better than free food and drink!”

“Aaahh,thanks Lisa,where are you these days,globally speaking? Tony,yes I see Richard from time to time,I play in his area and he comes to the gigs. He's working on some Rugby World Cup music at the moment with a composer friend of his. He's such a funny guy,he would wear you out with exhaustion as he'd keep you laughing all day and night,he's a really good mimic too.He immortalised an old guy from the country where we used to rehearse,in a west country accent,this guy ran a cafe and only sold two types of sandwich 'AM orrrr Cheeze,and would repeat it over and over,he also told stories about when the rolling stones used to stop of for a cup of tea and had a theory about the shadows music being revolutionary because of their use of the dominant 7th chord.He looked like uncle albert from only fools and horses,long white hair and beard. Richard still does him now. He's been working in tv a lot directing and doing still photos for big movies too.”

“Steve, First of all, thx for your great 'stories' as usual. About the link of 'DITD' I can't recognize the drummer and 2nd keyboards player too (as you were the 1st one, lol) . This Tv show is "Champions" a french Tv show wich was presented at this time (1983-1984) by Michel Denisot. This show as I remember was done the 1st April 1984 (not the same date mentionned click here , so I don't know), and in this show Jean-Luc Lahaye a french singer was here. It's my opinion but I think Kim was irrited by him as he thaught he looks like a playboy,but he don't, and he's everything but not a gentleman (yes I hate him, lol). The crowd of this show was really excited and noisy (?) and JLL thaught it was because of him, looooooooool. Not it was not, just because a 'little' talented and so cute singer british singer called KIM WILDE was here !!! If I had time (one day ...), I'll put on Utube the entire kim appearence (with JLL :-s and the interview after the song) :) And sorry for my bad english ..”

“Just watching Filipes excellent links. I thought I would give you some insight into the reality of those shows. We would be picked up at home by limo,maybe 5 am,then off to Heathrow,we would go to the 5 star hospitality and have a champagne breakfast. Then more on the flight,we'de be picked up in another limo with a mini bar,go to the hotel,check in,then to the tv studios,you hang around for at least four or five hours,so they put you in the bar/restaurant,three youngish rock n rollers,free tab,a rehearsal maybe at 5 pm,a meal with drinks etc,the show at maybe 10 pm,then more drinks,a club ,all free,then back to the 5 star hotel for drinks,you see where I'm going with this? It was great,Pete Clark on Bass is a highly rated martial artist,as is Simon Hill on Drums,I grew up in gang culture since I could walk,so we had some amazing nights taking the piss out of local hard boys who thought we were soft. I hope Kim never knew anything about it apart from the odd hospital visits for stitches etc. We all looked like butter wouldn't melt in our mouths,we should have been actors!”

I don't recognise the drummer or keyboard player,I barely recognise myself,camping it up like a cheap Kids from Fame reject,its soooo funny. Tony,that shirt was alright wasn't it? I used to shop in Kings Rd and Kensington Market,those shirts were custom hand made,often spray painted with acrylic so you had to cold wash them,every one was unique as all hand made,cost about £5,thats about £40 now I guess,I kept the lot but think they are in the house I gave to one of my previous wives,so I'll never see them again”

“Steve, I was talking about the Love is Holy link that Filipe posted. As far as what I do with the aircraft, pretty much a little of everything. That plane I'm sitting in in the Avatar is quite possibly the world's most gorgeous, fully restored, P-51D Mustang. I just do the maintenance on that one, haven't been lucky enough to fly it. I guess I'm only sworn to secrecy on the ATG Javelin project which I have been a part of for a few years on a contract basis. I'm with you on the war. My brother has been in both Iraq and Afghanistan as a US Marine and he saw some pretty nasty stuff in both places. He tells me the new government in Afghanistan isn't much better than the Taliban was. There was a big protest going on outside the US Embassy in Kabul and his team was called out just to provide security and observe. He said it was a little hairy, but not anything he considered particularly violent of threatening. Well, the Afghan police showed up outside the gates, lined up in front of the crowd and started shooting into it. It kind of left him with a bad taste in his mouth about what it was, exactly, he was risking his life to defend. In 1990, I was in Saudi Arabia in a CSAR (Combat Search & Rescue) squadron...saw some pretty dispicable things in Kuwait later on.”
