A very nice old track with a young Kim. It is catchy and sure underrated.
Unbelieveable to know that it was 26 Years ago...
A good performance.

What ? "Kim Wilde" is at the bottom of the Albums Poll ?? Wake up guys !! I mean it's all in the title : Kim Wilde ! And did you notice, in the montage of albums covers, it is the only cover that appears entirely, it's a sign ! And the content stands the test of time, 23 years after its first release : "Water on glass" pure energy and great lyrics ; "Our Town" pure teen angst anthem ; "Everything we know" a wonderful answer to Blondie's "The tide is high" with a killer chorus ; "Young Heroes" not my favorite but hey, The Kids from Fame (the US TV show) covered it... ; "Kids in America", probably one one of the Top 10 classics of the eighties ; "Chequered Love" probably the best song from the album - look out Joan Jett! ; "26580" great reggae track ; "You'll never be so wrong" fantastic soul number with amazing vocals ; "Falling out" Kim's answer to "I will survive" with a rock twist ; "Tuning in tuning on" my personal favorite... "Kim Wilde" is probably one of the most coherent albums from track 1 to 10. It also provided fantastic B sides, "Shane" and "Boys". So, just vote for it ! Just vote ! Just vote for it (repeat ad lib)

Water on glass running down again... Water on glass... THAT SOUND ! Vote for "Kim Wilde : the first album" !! It's the foundation of Kim's career, a memorable eighties album with new wave and Blondie's influences. It's simple, fresh, fun, it rocks !

I think this is quintessential KW I think this was her initial peak.
The band were so cool,James Stevenson on guitar,
Ricki on bass and Calvin Most on drums.
They were fantastic and drew me towards thinking wow!I would love to play in a band like that(not to mention the rather cool and lovely vocalist(her name evades me)but they all seemed soooooo coooooooool!
Anyway as you know I spoilt all of that but at least we were very well trained in music and life and I believe that Kim was given the best thing available to her.
Hope so amyway.
The Byrdman has flown!!!!!

Fabulous! This is the cool Kim I became fan of when I was still very young. What a charisma. Love the hair, love the outfit, love the way she moves as ifs she underlines music rifs, love how she looks. So mature for such a tender age. Great to see her in front of a band as well, this gives a better contrast. Great! Thank you for putting this up on the site!

Well, know this one and love it. She might be a tad unpolished and insecure here, which is no surprise considering how early this recording is, but I actually find that charming ;) As for the song itself, it's one of my absolute favourites; a song that somehow never grows old. New Wave Rock at its best, without doubt. I just wish that Kimmy would have released an official vid of this one :/

Great, very energentic perfomance of WOG. I'm still wondering why there wasn't made an official clip for it (or DID I MISS SOMETHING???), and why this song didn't enter the uk top ten. I prefer the single-b-side "Boys", but WOG is also a great number, but may a bit to negative.

The definitive pouty Kim of the early pre-SteveByrd days. No wonder half of the male population of the world went mad. Kim looked fab and the song definitely stands the test of time - what an unsual subject for a pop song, BTW. I love the way Kim moves here as if she were a little self-conscious.
