A great performance, I just watched the whole show again, or the broadcast bit anyway (45 mins.) This is how I love Kim, rocking! :)

I was watching again the Love Blonde performance in Groß Gerau, just to check how "bad" was Steve playing (his words) and I discovered the most wonderful thing - aside from the fact that Sexy Steve aka Nums should be really called The Lying Byrdman. By right-clicking on the videos you can actually see them in full screen!
Oh.
You all knew about this from day one. OK.
So why am I telling this in the View From A Bridge comments? Because... I'm speechless. I feel like I'm back being the tongue-tied 15 years old who had to catch his breath everytime he saw that incredible woman with the bewitching mix of down-to-earth and mystery. OK that was in 1981 and this perf is [checking] well, 11 years later. She had come a long way but managed to find it back. What a woman. No matter what Steve will tell you, it's a testimony to his professionalism that he can even remember his chords with someone like that strutting next to him.

JR, yes Close is a good album with great tracks ("Hey mister heartache") but I always thought it was a bit of a step down from "Another step", it's more coherent but less original and creative compared to songs like "Missing", "Brothers" or "Thrill of it". It's more commercial, it sounds like Kylie Minogue of 1988 which to me was at the time "popmusic from hell". Don't get me wrong, I like "Close" but it's a bit conventional to my taste. LISA, i vote also for "Select", I just love "Ego" !!

I have the .mp3 of this performance and it is great to see the video. What can be said about "View From a Bridge"? One of my top 5 Kim songs. Love the hands through the hair, "what am I to do" expressions and vocal.

Well, I don't have to watch the vid either to give it my rating. But in my case, I'm a little more reserved. VFAB is one of those "holy cows" (hopefully I'm using the right expression here.. :P ) of mine and I don't seem to like too much of a deviation from the originals when those are concerned. The performance is in fact pretty good, Steve's solo being a good example of the highlights of it, but I will - to the end of my days - insist that this song "should" be delivered with a certain emotional detachment (esp during the chorus). That's one of the things that made the original recording so brilliant. But sure, had I been there at the Nachtwerk concert, I'd have definitely been bouncing around with the rest of the crowd :P

Oh, I don't even need to watch the video to give it a 10!!
This is one of my fav performances of VFAB - so full of energy, so powerful! I just love it. And what about Steve's solo... ;o))) You rock man!!
