songs bring back memories and this song does too.
It's ashame that someone could think that this voice ain't really Kim's.
I still love the voice and I still love that woman.
Yes, 100% immaculate and the pout is HOT!
Also imagine a video to Chaos At The Airport, to much excitment.
View From A Bride is PERFECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the so0ng and video Kim!
Well what can I say!
"View From A Bridge" is my ALL TIME FAVOURITE track and video from Kim.
I remember seeing this video on an iconic Australian show "Countdown" when I was 7 years old.
This video stuck in my head for many, many, many years later, and I remember being so lurred and totally compelled by this video and song. It was so mysterious and genius to me as a kid and I still get the same feeling and goosebumps all these many years later!
The "Select" album is also my all time fav album and era from Kim.
The "Select" period was more grown up than the first album even though I adore the first album as well but there was something more this time around. Her voice was raw and edgy but luxurious, the music was more synth pop with dabbles of New Romanticism and the video indeed has a slight Duran Duran feel to it.
If only there were more singles released besides View and Cambodia! Imagine a video to Words Fell Down and Ego... W O W !!!!!!!!!!!!
Kim looks 100% immaculate and

This is my favorite Kim Wilde song, video and single.
And yes... SELECT is my favorite Kim Wilde album too!
Ok well my brother corrected me on the other note i wrote, it's supposed to be wings not voice you see i was watching family guy and then there was this part and, somehow, it didn't really get in my head but you know it runs i the family so... you know. i'll restart that, forget about my other note, ok.
i found this a great video, i like the color, i like the music, and well, in general, it's 100% good.
This video is great. I really like her facial expressions in all her early songs as she sings...something about the way her mouth stretches and her eyebrows go up; she just seems really into her song. I feel like she really takes up the role of the person she sings about. I bet she'd be a wonderful actress. I think the Hot for the Dog video is great too. I actually like that one better because you can see her face more. Watching this video reminded me again of how awesome this stage, the "tough chick" stage, in Kim's career is.

View from a bridge, can t take anymore... What s good about our pop idols is that they bring a lot on different levels, from emotions to experiences. And the Wilde bunch was right by writing about watching the dirt from a bridge, better not put your feet in it anymore! As a brit, Kim for sure has sort of a royal blood pulsing into her veins standing on her bridge... 1 of the elements I really find strong in Kim s early material is that unique way big M had to suggest facts of life through images projected on our emotions screen...
Ah, yes, beats me why I haven't rated this one. I can't recall exactly when I first saw the vid, but I assume it was late -82 or early -83. As I am a Selectaholic, I love this video and Kimmy's style in particular. The video is simple, yet suggestive and very New Wave. And the pout..! Geez!
Simply Wilde! It remembers Kim is brit, the land of Boy George and John Galliano. Incredible to realise that her look is completely Dior 04, with that little insane perfume of bondage in the shadow, very exciting! I love the way she moves in it, she looks like my cousine Nicole back in those days (her sister won a Nena look a like contest!). Kim, tell us what really happened with Adam Ant and Steve Strange, we want to know, you new romantiK girl! Absolutely fabulous...

Great video. Just a straight performance video draped in pink and red. It has that classic early 80's new wave look to it as well; kind of reminds of some of Duran Duran's early videos.
And I just don't know what's
fact or fantasy, but when I look below the bridge I see it's me me me me... I was
seven years old when I first
heard this song, thinking that
I might eventually undersand
the lyrics when I'm a little
bit older. Well I'm now 28
and still don't get it. Phil
might have and educated explanation for this one!
I never get tired of this song! Itīs great, I think itīs my favourite from "Select" (but itīs hard to decide between this one and "Chaos at the airport")

SHOOT TO DISABLE (AND ALIVE)
View from a Bridge was my first single of Kim's, before I got to buy the album Select. I was fifteen years old. A year later, I was infected with HIV, from a man I hardly knew, and who forced his way. It has now been twenty years with the virus, ups and downs in my health, my social and professional life.
Today however, I am rocking, looking like a million dollars and getting loads of envious looks at the club or at the pool(I'll send pics to anyone who asks as living proof ;-), working a job I enjoy, and noone suspects anything (unless I trust them to tell). The combination therapy has to do with it, of course, but I think the will to live, that force of life within, is the predominant factor that explains why I am here today, kicking ass and not being sorry. I am Million years away from 'It's a sad sad situation', but again, Kim sang it in 1987. Still, it may apply to some affected in the western world (depression, social exclusion, resistant virus etc) and of course to those in poorer countries which give no access to therapies.
I was so glad to learn that Kim uses organic for gardening, and for cooking for herself and her family. Respect for the Earth is essential if you want her to love you back, and keep you on her grounds (Am I losing anyone here? Oh well, give it two secs and think about it :-)
I never thought I'd be writing about myself in this way in particular, in this forum. A bit surreal, but I read those previous texts about someone who knew somebody who had it, and I thought, "well, I must give it my first-hand experience and personal version , I'm alive and kicking, not the stereotype one would expect, and people must know that there is hope when you give yourself a chance.
As Pierre said earlier, life and music sometimes intertwine (oh, don't they always?), and this is just an example.
Four letter word to all,
Philippe.

Excellent Kim Wilde song, I love it! I especially like the remix version of this song! Again, this site is totally cool awesome!
Even though the video is very simple and low budget, I still think it's great. Kim looks very thin in this video too, compared to her others videos around this period. Love the mullet!
Probably the best video of Kim in her early years : it 's very simple, low budget but the director made the best out of the song. I love the "red widow" scene and Kim looks cool in her dress. Classic video !
