 No wonder she sounds a bit terrified the young girl, she's on stage with THE star. Great performance.

 Great performance. I liked this duet with Tik Tak. Very energetic. I enjoyed it very very much. I am very interested with Kim Wilde performances after 1990, especialy from 2000 to 2004. Thans to Pierre for giving us such an opportunity to watch these videos.

 Here's some background comments... Kim came to Helsinki, Finland to promote her compilation album which was released around the time and she was booked to perform on tv and on this 'Fashion Night' show. TikTak (a Finnish girl band, ages between 16-17 at the time (believe it or not! and they play all instruments themselves!) was also performing on the same show. The promoters of the show remembered that TikTak always play 'Kids in America' as a last song on their gigs so somebody got the brilliant idea "why not ask if Kim would agree to perform 'Kids' with the girls"! And because she's such a lovely lady she said 'YES' and the rest is for you all to see. Please notice that Kim & TikTak rehearsed the song only ONCE just a few hours before it was broadcasted live on tv! Quite suberb job, I'd say, eh!! And pls note that the singer, Petra, was only 16 years old at the time, and a bit shy of Kim :) But most importantly, Kim herself was VERY impressed of the whole (young) band & how great version TikTak had made of Kids! And if Kim's happy, I'm happy :-)

 Steve, this one was shot in Finland back in 2002, for the 'Fashion Night' event. The girl singing along with Kim is the lead singer of the Finnish band TikTak.

 I agree with katrien and schoolgirl's analysis, regarding the poor interaction from the 'lead' singer and the masterly way Kim makes up for it. At least the band does seem suitly thrilled to have Kim among their number. To be fair, everybody does a good job to make the song sound its best. And say what you will, there's something rather moving to see Kim performing that very tune with kids who probably weren't born when she first sang it. A nice coda to her carreer.

 I just love Kim in this. I also like the music played on this, taking a pop song more into rythmic guitars and nice new arrangements. The other singer, not to keen on her as in a duet with Nena eg. There's no good interaction and singing a duet compels artists to do so. There are enough looks from Kim or when you look at her body language (turned towards the other person) you see she's a very experienced person in that to make things look like a 'duet'. The other singer is jumping around, makes almost no efforts to 'click' to make it more interesting for the audience. Yes, a shame for Kim especcially, I really wonder if the bands- singer (sorry I don't know her name) knows what a great artist and performer Kim is and was back then. And the adorable Kim, gives her a hug at the end of the performance, what a class she has!!!

 I have to take 3 big points off for--what's her name--Tik Tacky? Gee, let's upstage the original artist of the song by being as obnoxious as possible and showing just how disrespectful we can get away with being. Ugh, poor Kim. I give her lots of credit for not sinking to her level. Talk about one overseas artist I hope never makes it over here. As somebody said, she comes off like Pink, and we don't need another one of those. Ick!

 I always liked Rik Rak and am glad to see (but not surprised, mind you) that Kim could hold her own on the stage with a bunch of teens. Very nice!

 Trés original, je suis contant de voir que des groupes reprennent des chansons de Kim et l'invite à chanter avec eux et puis c'est un classic maintenant.

 The TikTak singer Petra (who were 16 yrs old when this came out!) was so nervous performing with Kim that she thought it's best if she didn't look at Kim during their singing or otherwise she would forget the lyrics or something as horrible! That's why she might look like she's performing on her own or totally ignoring that Kim is singing with her. By the way, Kim was VERY impressed of the whole band considering how old or should we say YOUNG they are (16-17 yrs old).

 Kim performs respectably and shouldn't have been upstaged by that finnish wierdo. Kim today looks so much fitter and more self assured than the one shown here. It's amazing what a year can do...

 Well, what can I say… I like this version with Tik Tak. I think it is very energetic! I would suggest that Kim would have loved to sing it a bit lower, than she had to though… I would be really happy if somebody manages to convince Kim to re-record all these great songs from her very first albums! Of course, with that very rocky sound they play them live these days (you’ve heard these versions many times, I guess). And the in the way that Kim would sing them now, after all these years of experience… I think they will become smash hits!
